PURPOSE:To obtain a tool identifying device not affected by a stain and the gap fluctuation between a tool and a detector and allowing the identification in a short time by sticking a magnetic seal to the tool, arranging the detector oppositely to it, and providing a means storing and judging the data of the tool via the detection of magnetic signals by this detector. CONSTITUTION:An analog synchronizing signal and an analog significant signal composed of the tool identification information serving as data are magnetically recorded on a magnetic seal 5. In detection, the position of the magnetic seal 5 is moved along a detector 6, thereby these synchronizing signal and significant signal are read out, and these two analog signals are sent to a control device 4 and processed. The control device 4 checks the changing state of the significant signal against the synchronizing signal and outputs the tool identification information based on it as a digital signal. Accordingly, the data of the magnetic seal 5 is detected by magnetic induction, two signals: synchronizing and significant, are used, thus this device is not affected by a stain such as cutting oil and the gap fluctuation between the detector 6 and magnetic seal 5. |
