[Also in Division H1] An accelerating heater 42 for a thermal switch (see Division H1) comprises an annular insulating wafer 43, a thin resistive coating 44, spaced contact portions 46 and 48 on coating 44, and composite conductive spring terminal members 56 biased into electrical connection at ends 60 with respective ones of the spaced contact portions. Each spring member 56 has a spring steel or stainless steel core with a surrounding copper shell bonded thereto. The coating 44 is gold, or platinum, or silver, or a palladium-silver-glass glaze resistor material. The heater assembly 42 is held in place by a ceramic cement 62. |
