PURPOSE:To facilitate operation for fitting a boot by swelling fixing portions of the boot with organic solvent and externally fitting the boot to an outer ring and a rotary shaft to be closely engaged with each other. CONSTITUTION:Fixing portions 12, 14 are previously impregnated with an organic solvent such as trichloroethylene or the like during a fixed period of time, and the fixing portions 12, 14 are a little increased in inside diameter by swelling action to be externally fitted. After that, in order to restore the fixing portions to an expected inside diameter, the fixing portions 12, 14 are let stand in the engagement state in a constant temperature bath during a fixed period of time to remove organic solvent impregnated in the fixing portions. Accordingly the fixing portions 12, 14, an outer ring 1 and a rotary shaft 10 are closely engaged with one another without clearance to facilitate operation for fitting a boot.
