PURPOSE:To enable wiring cables of electrical apparatuses obtd. by using the title compsn. to be kept from getting mildewy, by using a thermoplastic resin having an ester group content of a specified value in preparing a non-halogen flame retarder-contg. resin compsn. by mixing a thermoplastic resin with a metal hydroxide. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. thermoplastic resin is mixed with not less than 30pts. wt. metal hydroxide to form a non-halogen flame retarder-contg. resin compsn. As the thermoplastic resin, a resin having an ester group content of not more than 10% is used. Examples of the metal oxide are pref. aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, zeolite and a mixture of magnesium hydroxide with magnesium sulfate.
