PURPOSE:To improve the high pressure sealing performance, by providing lip portions at the tips of both forked sections of an annular body and employing inclined hermetic seal faces at the annular sealing faces of the lip portions such that the projection at the fork side is retreated obliquely. CONSTITUTION:Lip portions 3 are provided respectively at the tips of forked sections 2 of a gasket 1. An annular inclined hermetic sealing face 4 is provided on the outer face of the lip portion 3 while projecting farther than the outer width between the forked sections 2 such that the projection at the side of the forked section 2 is retreated obliquely. When the gasket 1 is fastened between a flange 5, the forked section 2 bends and the lip portion 3 inclines such that the inclined hermetic sealing face 4 will be in parallel with the flange 5. Consequently, the inclined hermetic sealing face 4 contacts entirely with the face of the flange 5 resulting in improvement of high pressure hermetic seal performance.
