The invention relates to an injection pump with quiet-idle injection with a distributor-pump plunger (3), which delivers fuel from the pump internal chamber (2) to the individual injection lines of the engine, with a control slide valve (12) sliding on the distributor-pump plunger (3), with a spill bore (13) on the distributor-pump plunger, which bore is fitted angularly offset to the control bore (14) and lies in the area of the control slide valve. The control slide valve (12) has a radial throttle bore (22) with a blow-off valve (25) fitted thereon, the housing of which is connected to the pump internal chamber (2). By rotation of the control slide valve, the pressure chamber (5) is connected to the pump internal chamber (2) due to the bores (13) and (22) and the blow-off valve (25) coinciding so that the pressure chamber (5) is relieved during the effective stroke phase. In this way, a retarded or multiple opening of the injection nozzle needle at low idling speed is achieved, which produces quieter engine running. When the idling phase is exceeded, the fuel flow from the pressure chamber to the pump internal chamber is interrupted by turning back of the control slide valve (12) (Fig. 3). <IMAGE>
