The individual arms 2, arranged in the form of a star, of a rotor 1 for a pulper have a base body 3 as the root and a front part 4 which is located at the front in the direction of rotation and is shaped as a wing element. In its front zone it is shaped essentially to taper towards a tip, and it protrudes obliquely upwards from the base body 3 in the direction of rotation. The radially inward inclination of the wing element 4 relative to the horizontal is here greater than the radially outward inclination. The difference is at least 25@, the radially inward inclination of the lower edge being between 35 and 80@, and the inclination of the centre line of the cross-sectional profile being between 40 and 70@. The extent of both the lengths and widths of both the base body 3 and the wing element 4 uniformly decreases from radially inside to radially outside. Preferably, each arm is curved towards the back against the direction of rotation, the radius of curvature/rotor outside diameter ratio being between 1.2:1 and 0.8:1. Underneath the wing element, the base body forms, at its front part, an impact surface 7 which extends essentially in the direction parallel to the rotor axis of rotation, or concavely. <IMAGE>
