PURPOSE:To obtain a nonwoven fabric for an air filter having a plurality of functions from a single constitutional material, by interlacing a conductive fiber and an antibacterial fiber with a binder fiber. CONSTITUTION:A nonwoven fabric for an air filter consists of a conductive fiber 1, an antibacterial fiber 2 and a binder fiber 3. As the conductive fiber, a metal fiber or a fiber to which metal is plated is used. As the binder fiber 3, a composite fiber composed of a combination of polyester and polyethylene is used. These fibers are fixed by mixing, heat-treatment and lamination to obtain the nonwoven fabric having density and a thickness corresponding to an object. Since a plurality of functions are obtained by a single filter, this filter can be used as the charge filter of an electric precipitator.
