摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain good S/N and durability even if a tendency toward shorter wavelengths increases by consisting of the titled medium of two-layered structure in which the axes of the columnar crystal particles constituting a thin ferromagnetic metallic are deviated. CONSTITUTION:This recording medium consists of the two-layered structure in which the axes of the columnar crystal particles constituting the thin ferromagnetic metallic film are deviated. More specifically, a 1st magnetic layer 6 is a thin ferromagnetic metallic film which is constituted of the columnar crystal particles 9 or 11. The 2nd magnetic layer 7 is likewise constituted of the columnar crystal particles 10 or 12 so that the axes of the columnar crystal particles are serrated from each other. Formation of the 1st magnetic layer 6 and the 2nd magnetic layer 7 is executed by an electron beam vapor deposition method, high-frequency magnetron sputtering method, etc., and the axes can be serrated by varying the substrate temps. at the time of forming the 1st magnetic layer 6 and the 2nd magnetic layer 7 at this time. Since the magnetical sepn. between the layers is thereby additionally promoted, noise is reduced in spite of an increased tendency toward the shorter wavelengths. The improvement in corrosion resistance is attained as voids no longer penetrate the magnetic recording layer from the front to the rear. Sufficient reliability is thus assured even if the recording medium is used for a long period under high humidity.
