PURPOSE:To leave glass to be left in a depth control groove, by a necessary quantity in accordance with a degree of formation of a coil winding groove, by forming a protective film in the depth control groove, as well, so as to cover the end part of a metallic magnetic film in the vicinity of the apex. CONSTITUTION:A metallic magnetic film 14 is stuck to a thin film sticking groove 14 formed on a butting surface 11a of a pair of half core blocks 11, and thereafter, a depth control groove 30 for controlling the gap depth is formed so as to be orthogonal to this thin film sticking groove 13. Also, a track width control groove 16 is formed so as to extend over the depth control groove 30, and also, so as to be adjacent to the thin film sticking groove 13, and a protective film 31 is formed so as to cover the whole surface of the depth control groove 30, the thin film sticking groove 13 and the track width control groove 16. Subsequently, glass 17 is melted and filled into the inside of this depth control groove 30, the thin film sticking groove 13 and the track width control groove 16, and by superposing on the depth control groove 30, a coil winding groove 32 is formed. Thereafter, by polishing the butting surface 11a, the end face of the metallic magnetic film 14 which becomes a magnetic gap 12 is exposed, and thereafter, by butting the end face of this magnetic metallic film 14, the half core blocks 11 are joined, and the joined core block 11 is cut at every magnetic cap 12.
