PURPOSE:To promote the spread of mark sheet communication and its development by charging a communication charge to an information processing side by means of a character, numeral or symbol or the like on a specific column described on a mark sheet so as to attain incoming call charging. CONSTITUTION:A pattern signal from a mark sheet 17 deposited to a facsimile equipment is inputted to a pattern signal storage buffer 7 from a facsimile equipment side connection terminal 11. In discriminating a UPP number of a UPP number (user identification number) describing column 18 in the sheet 17 via a controller and a recognition dictionary 9 or the like, the result is transferred to a UPP number identification circuit 13. The circuit 13 discriminates a prescribed condition such as the quantity of a numeral or whether or not a numeral of a specific digit is coincident with a predetermined figure. As the result, when the UPP number satisfies the condition, a flag is displayed on the incoming charging flag holding circuit 14. Thus, the incoming charging is executed and the registration of a charge onto a facsimile terminal side charging meter is attained and the spread of mark sheet communication and its development are promoted.
