The above device makes it possible to subject to mechanical and heat treatment industrial products which are difficult to handle. Two diametrically-opposed stirring shafts (2, 3) comprising disc segments in a two-cylinder casing (1), knife-like strips (35, 36) fixed to the external diameter and scraper frames (34) which mesh during operation, collaborate to keep the thermal exchange surfaces free from deposits and incrustations. The product is constantly comminuted and homogenized. Smooth longitudinal transport can be obtained, with appropriate dwell times. Additional crust-breakers make it possible to break down lumpy products and prevent toroidal formations. Several different solutions can be achieved depending on the products, by arranging or modifying the mixing and scraping elements, and also by modifying the direction of rotation, accompanied by a simultaneous permutation of the stirring shafts. If the disc segments are replaced by stirring arms, the segment scraper frames are also simultaneously replaced by scraper frames. If only one of the stirring shafts is provided with stirring elements (disc segments or agitator arms) to which are fixed knife-like strips, the second stirring arm receives only scraper elements (segment scraper frames or scraper frames). |
