PURPOSE:To indicate and give warning to compensate the amount of the radius of a wire electrode by detecting that a workpiece is brought in contact with a wire electrode and they are short-circuited due to the travel of a table when a workpiece end face projecting command from a workpiece end face projecting command means is inputted. CONSTITUTION:When a wire electrode P is brought in contact with a workpiece W and they are short-circuited, a comparator 1 gives output. A numerical control device 2, receiving this output, makes the travel of a table to stop, and stores the distance of its travel. Then, it further makes the table to return to the original position and, again, detects and stores the distance at which the wire electrode P is brought in contact with the workpiece W and they are short-circuited. Such a step is carried out about (n) times and, then, an average distance is calculated from the results measured (n) times. And, indication is made through indication means 6, such as, lamps, buzzers, CRT, etc. and warning is given for compensation in order that the table is moved to the position of the average distance while the compensation of position amounting to the radius of the electrode P may be carried out. |
