The aim of the cable sheath cutter having a blade which is arranged on a base body and which is provided on its free end with a flat which extends approximately at right angles to the cutter and grips between the cable interior and cable sheath and having a toothed drive system, which is likewise arranged on the base body, can roll on the cable sheath and has as a manual operating lever, is to provide a solution which reliably prevents the person using the cutter from being injured when current-carrying cable cores are damaged.
