PURPOSE:To easily know a measurement position by fitting a measurement axis and the emission axis of a target marker which emits visible light nearby in parallel to each other. CONSTITUTION:There is an ultrasonic sensor 3 with sharp directivity at the muzzle of a gun type and the target marker 4 is fitted right below it. The marker 4 is a small-sized, lightweight semiconductor laser oscillator which emits the visible light. Further, batteries 5 are stored in a grip, so the device is carried freely. Further, a sensor signal processing circuit 6 is incorporated in a barrel. When the grip is gripped and a switch 7 is pushed, laser light 10 is emitted by the marker 4, so that the light is made to strike on an object 8 of measurement. Then, a trigger 18 is pulled when it is confirmed that a laser point 9 meets a measurement point. Then, an ultrasonic wave 11 is emitted in parallel to the laser light 10 and its delay time is calculated by the signal processing circuit 6, so that the distance is outputted on a display part 12. Thus, the distance from the hand to a desired point is easily measured by the handy type device.
