PURPOSE:To print a multicolor image, by providing a plurality of rotary mimeographic plate cylinders which respectively support different plate materials and different color inks, and transferring different color images in a superimposed condition onto each of the plate materials on the plate cylinders while the plate cylinders are rotated in contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:At the time of printing, predetermined color inks possessed by plate cylinders 20, 10 and exuding through perforations formed in stencil papers 28, 18 are transferred onto the outer peripheral surfaces of the opposite stencil papers 18, 28 through the mutual contact of the stencil papers, whereby images defined by the stencils of the stencil papers 18, 28 are transferred onto the opposite stencil papers 28, 18. Both the image formed by the stencil paper 18 and transferred onto the stencil paper 28 and the image formed by the stencil of the stencil paper 18 itself are transferred onto a paper P fed between a cylinder 24 and a pressure roller 32, resulting in that an image formed by superimposition of the stencils of the stencil papers 18, 28 is printed on the paper P in the colors of the predetermined inks possessed by the plate cylinders 10, 20.
