PURPOSE:To execute a stable printing operation by preventing a magnetic toner from being covered or stuck onto a recording electrode, by keeping the position of a recording electrode away from a body to be recorded, at other time than printing recording, and varying the magnetic field state of the tip part of the recording electrode. CONSTITUTION:At the time of printing recording, a voltage is applied to solenoids 44, 45, plungers 46, 47 are drawn up, a substrate 37 moves in the direction A, and guide rollers 50, 51 are brought into contact with a recording insulating sheet 35 and stops. The tip of a stylus electrode 28 is at the recording insulating sheet 35 side from a position where the ends of the sheet 35 side of magnets 33, 34 are connected, a magnetic flux is generated in the direction going to the sheet 35 from the tip face of the electrode 28, an electric conductive magnetic toner carried on the sheet 35 is drawn up strongly to the electrode 28 side, and a chain-like electric conductive path is formed. At other time than printing recording, an electric path is not formed in a gap between the tip face of the electrode 28 and the sheet 35, therefore, a toner 25 is not brought into contact with the sheet 35, and it can be prevented from sticking the toner 25 to the electrode 28.
