The device has a first variable length conveyor belt which moves when the flow at the downstream end is interrupted. A second belt is provided following in the same flow direction, having a greater speed than the first belt. The second belt is similarly variable in length and its upstream end is synchronised with the downstream end of the first conveyor belt during flow interruption. It then exhibits the same speed as the first conveyor belt. The two belts are connected by an intermediate unit running with the same speed as the belts. Before the first conveyor belt is a release system conveyor with a higher speed than the first belt and after the second belt is an accumulator system and a stacking station.
