A continuous conveying operation over longer time intervals in the area of the face/roadway transfer point is possible by a crossing apparatus being provided which permits continuous transfer from the face conveyor directly onto the belt conveyor or else indirectly via a corresponding crossing conveyor. Here, the transfer of the face conveyor on the crossing conveyor or a crossing belt of corresponding design is possible via a truck and correspondingly laid running rails, the face conveyor and the crossing conveyor or the crossing belt being alternately braced via integrated bracing blocks against the roadway sides and thus forming advantageous abutments. Provided in the area of the transfer from the face conveyor to the crossing conveyor or the crossing belt are pushing cylinders which can either also be used for advancing the face conveyor but in particular are used for moving or displacing the crossing conveyor or crossing belt. Appropriately convenient couplings to the crossing conveyor or crossing belt are obtained by bolts or latches. The entire crossing conveyor with fitted breaker can be displaced in this manner by integrated travel units, i.e. without additional units. <IMAGE>
