The object on which the invention is based is, in multiple labelling on different bottle diameters and non-cylindrical bottle parts, to control the pressing-on element arranged on the labelling cylinder so as to be slip-free relative to the bottle surface. The object is achieved, according to the invention, in that two cooperating cam mechanisms are assigned to each pressing-on element, the first cam mechanism consisting of an angle lever mounted with one leg on the labelling cylinder and controlled at the vertex point by means of a roller in a fixed cam, and there being rotatably mounted on its other leg, at its vertex point, a roller lever of the second cam mechanism which of the lever is guided on one side by a roller in a second fixed cam and on the other side of which the pressing-on element is fastened. The invention is used in labelling machines for bottles and relates to the pressing on of labels by controlled pressing-on elements. <IMAGE>
