PURPOSE:To manufacture a battery which has the excellent energy transfer efficiency and is able to continuously supply a high current current by constituting an electrode poly alpha-amino acid and iodine. CONSTITUTION:The formula of iodine and poly alpha-amino acid in a charge transfer complex is selected in the range of 20-1/20, preferably 10-1/2 ratio of iodine to poly alpha-amino acid by weight. The charge-transfer complex is a main component of electrode material, but excessive contents of iodine or poly alpha-amino acid against the complex, or contents of additives to increase the electric conductivity, are allowable. Poly alpha-amino acid constituting the electrode material is natural polymer, synthetic polymer and related substance of alpha-amino acid. by the arrangement, a compact, lightweight primary and secondary battery with high capacity and high energy density can be manufactured. |
