PURPOSE:To improve the cooling of a damper winding by using as the winding a conductive metal plate, and covering the whole surface of the outer periphery of a pole head with the plate. CONSTITUTION:The whole surface of the outer periphery of the head of a pole core 11 is covered with a conductive metal plate 12. Both axial sides are bent inward, and the pole shoulders of the head of the core 11 are folded to be fixed at the bent parts. If the circular-arc width of the core 11 is wide, a plurality of axial dovetail grooves 21a are opened on the outer periphery of the head of the core 21, a dovetail projecting piece 22a to be engaged with the dovetail groove 21a is provided inside a conductive metal plate 22, and both are associated to be fixed. Thus, cooling condition is improved to eliminate the fluctuation phenomenon of a damper winding.
