<p>Tool fitting/removing mechanism of a main spindle device of a machine tool which comprises a draw bar (22) having a tool meshing end portion which can engage with, and disengage from, a pull stud (18) of a tool (T) fitted to a tool fitting hole (16) at the lower end of a a main spindle (10), and extending inside the main spindle (10); a spring (30) for normally urging the draw bar (22) towards the tool engagement position through a head (26) disposed at the end opposite to the tool engagement end portion of the draw bar (22); a push-down member held inside the head (26) of the draw bar (22) and consisting of a steel ball (32) whose semi-spherical portion is exposed; and a fitting hole (34) for receiving a draw bar push-down rod (36), which hole (34) is opened from the side surface of the main spindle (10) and is formed as a passage that the semi-spherical portion of the steel ball (32) forming the draw bar push-down member faces; wherein the draw bar (22) is pushed down through the draw bar push-down member when the draw bar push-down rod (36) is inserted and makes it possible to fit and remove the tool.</p> |
