In a ratchet programme control mechanism, an eccentric wheel (3) drives a conveying pawl (7) which causes a programme drum (12) to move on. In order to make possible, besides a basic step time, a shortened step time of the programme drum (12) while retaining a simple structure, the eccentric wheel (3) has at least one second eccentric (6) for a second conveying pawl (8). The second eccentric (6) is angularly offset relative to the first eccentric (5). The second conveying pawl (8) is assigned at least one further drive tooth (16). <IMAGE>
