Support system for lamp frame in sun-bed - allows vertical positioning of frame above bed using parallel rods hinged and linked by pneumatic cylinder

The system has a base frame mounted on three casters which allow the system to be moved about the floor and placed next to a bed. On the base is a pillar which contains a timer switch. Protruding at right angles from the top of the pillar is a shaft. Mounted on the shaft is a U-shaped profile which supports one end of the arm assembly. Attached to the other end of the arm assembly is the vertical support rod which is fastened to the ultra violet lamp bank. The bank contains a number of fluorescent UV tubes and a rear reflector. The arm assembly has two parallel rods, which are hinged and linked by a pneumatic cylinder. As the bank is raised or lowered, the rods maintain a parallelogram shape.
