PURPOSE:To miniaturize a switching power source by connecting both ends of an inductance element with a power source respectively via separate semiconductor switches and by ON-OFF controlling these four semiconductor switches to change a direction of electric current from one to another. CONSTITUTION:In a switching power source, one end A of a coil 5 is connected between an input power Vi and earth via semiconductor switches S1, S2, and the other end B of the coil 5, between the input power Vi and earth via semiconductor switches S3, S4. Further, rectifying diodes 6, 7 are connected with said other end B in forward and reverse directions, respectively and the side of output terminals 10, 11 of said diodes is earthed via respective smoothing capacitors 8, 9. Thus, positive and negative output voltages can be obtained steadily by repetition of ON-OFF control actions of semiconductor switches S1-S4.
