<p>A fluidized bed vessel (10) including horizontal heat exchanger tube banks (14A, 14B, 14M) having tubes spaced from each other to provide for essentially plug flow of gas through the vessel and breaking of rising bubbles while also obtaining adequate heat transfer and solids exchange.
