<p>A connector assembly formed of mating connector halves for interconnecting corresponding conductive traces of opposed parallel printed circuit boards (18, 20 in Fig. 4) or printed circuit boards oriented at right angles (202, 204 in Fig. 7). The connector assembly is formed of mating insulative housings (42, 40 in Fig. 4, and 42, 208 in Fig. 7); mating electrical signal terminals (24, 26 in Fig 4, and 218, 26 in Fig. 7); and mating conductive elements or buses (30, 32 in Fig. 4, and 314, 32 in Fig. 7). The mating conductive elements comprise central blade-like buses which can function as a reference ground plane for the microstrip transmission of electrical signals or as power buses. The assembly for interconnecting right angle printed circuit boards includes a housing half (208) formed of two interconnecting blocks (210 and 212) configured to mutually receive one mating half of the signal terminals (214 and 218) and the electrically conductive bus (214).</p> |
