A drug for nephritis, which comprises an omega -(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)alkenecarbonyl derivative represented by general formula (I), wherein R<1> and R<2>, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxycarbonyl group, a lower alkoxy-lower alkyl group or a hydroxy-protective group, R<3> represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkoxy group, m represents an integer of 1 or 2, and Y represents an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an alkoxy group, and aralkyloxy group or a group represented by formula (II), wherein n represents an integer of 1 to 5. This drug is particularly effective for treatment of chronic nephritis. |
