The invention relates to a battery-operated auxiliary drive for golf carts which is releasably connected to the golf cart. According to the invention, a roller drive is provided which is designed as a transporting element engaging directly on the surface of the ground. An essential advantage achieved is that a suitable auxiliary drive for all types of golf cart is made available, which is easy to instal and to remove. Because the new auxiliary drive engages directly on the surface of the ground, all that is necessary is to attach it to the golf cart.
