PURPOSE:To improve the coupling efficiency between a mixing element and optical fibers for outputting by constituting the mixing element of a photoconductive repeating rod for inputting to which an optical fiber for inputting is connected and a photoconductive repeating rod for outputting to which the plural optical fibers for outputting are connected. CONSTITUTION:The light signal made incident from an optical fiber 1 for inputting to a mixing element 3 is outputted in the form of an annular distribution of the light intensity having a radius r2 from the output end of a photoconductive repeating rod 4 for inputting. More specifically, the light signal having said annular distribution of the light intensity is inputted into a photoconductive repeating rod 5 for outputting from the input end thereof and is outputted as the signal having roughly uniform light intensity over the entire part of the core 5A at the output end from the output end of the rod unlike the light signal inputted at one point of the input end. The light signal is thus uniformly made incident to plural optical fibers 2, 2... for outputting connected to the output end of the rod 5. |
