The two-part hook can be fixed to a handle and is used for passing a rope around a bollard, or through a mooring ring. When the rope presses against a locking catch (5) it releases spring-loaded arms (3AB) and slides past a further spring-loaded catch (8), being locked in place, so that the arms hold the lower part of the retracting portion against the supporting one. When the rope presses against a slide plate (10), pins (11) are released and the top part of the retracting portion is freed from the supporting one, both then bearing against the arms so as to allow the rope to pass through. |
