PURPOSE:To prevent hammering by using, in addition to working fluid, a specified amount of a liquid which generates nonconsable gas at a lower boiling point than that of the working liquid. CONSTITUTION:A heat pipe is loaded with a working fluid and a liquid having a lower boiling point than that of the working liquid and generates noncondensable gas. The gas-generating liquid content is 7.0X10<-6>-7.3X10<-4>mol per litter of an inner volume of a container. The working fluid may be water or methanol. In case that water is applied as the working liquid, the gas- generating liquid may preferably have a boiling point of 0-30 deg.C. This liquid is evaporated into noncondensable gas when a part of the heat pipe is heated, and this gas is pushed by an evaporation flow and accumulated at the condenser part. Thus, when a bumping occurs, a block of liquid moving toward the condenser part is prevented from being struck against the end cap due to a presence of the noncondensable gas.
