Polymer compositions can be prepared by compounding a polymer with a polymeric or non-polymeric additive at a temperature of from 100 DEG C to 220 DEG C. At least one component of the composition is in a powder or particulate form and is packed in a bag of which the main component is an olefin copolymer which comprises in copolymerised form from 85 to 98 weight percent of at least one olefin monomer and from 15 to 2 weight percent acrylic or methacrylic acid or an ionomer thereof. The bag containing the powdery or particulate component is introduced into the compounding equipment without unpacking the contents.
