PURPOSE:To need only one monitor by reading out video signals, which are asynchronous with each other and different in frequency, such as a TV image that is a picked up picture and the text picture of a computer, in unified mode to the picture of a higher frequency. CONSTITUTION:An addition circuit 18 adds up together the picture signal MPS, which is switched by a switching circuit SS2 and read out from either a bank memory 17a or 17b, and a text image signal TXS from the computer 20, and transmits it to a digital/analog converter (D/A converter) 22. The D/A converter 22 converts the image signal, added up by the addition circuit 18, into the analog signal of a variable density, and outputs it to the monitor 23, which is capable of an analog-inputting. The monitor 23 displays a video output, synthesized from the picture signal of the D/A converter and the text video signal at the synchronizing frequency of an inputted text synchronizing signal TSY, on the same screen.
