PURPOSE:A direct drawing type planographic printing original plate excellent in water resistance, durability in printing or the like, wherein an intermediate layer comprising a sericite component containing pigment, an emulsion of a synthetic resin having a specified reactive group, an initial condensate of melamine and a hardener therefor is provided between a base and an image-receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:The intermediate layer comprising a pigment containing a sericite component, preferably in a quantity of not less than 50%, an emulsion of a synthetic resin having a reactive hydroxyl group or carboxylic group, e.g., carboxyl-modified SBR or an acrylic acid ester copolymer, an initial condensate of melamine, e.g., a reaction product of dimethylolmelamine or the like and formaldehyde, and a catalyst for hardening the melamine, e.g., triethanolamine, is applied onto the base preferably in a quantity of 10-15g/m<2>, followed by drying. Then, the image-receiving layer is provided on the intermediate layer to obtain the objective printing original plate. |
