PURPOSE:To prevent an unnecessary external force from being generated and correctly expose and record an image by giving the preset slack to an image record carrier between a pair of feeding rolls and an image scanning/recording unit in an image recorder for generating a film negative plate. CONSTITUTION:When a desired image is to be recorded on an unexposed film F in a magazine 20, first the preset slack is given between a pair of feeding rolls 30 and the drum 36 of an image scanning/recording unit, one end of the film having been scanned and recorded is inserted between a movable guide plate 68 and a guide plate 66, and one end is drooped. After the exposing and recording is completed, the drum 36 is rotated in the feed direction, the end of the film is clamped with a nip roller 38, next movable guides 68, 70 are swayed to positively rotate the drum 36, the film is fed to a cutter means 90, and the cut film is sent to a developing device 112 through a guide outlet 106. Accordingly, an unnecessary external force for an image record carrier can be prevented from being generated, and a desired image can be correctly exposed and recorded.
