PURPOSE:To shorten the overall length of an engine, by arranging a fly wheel at the forward end of the section of an engine body, and by disposing a turbo- charger with use of a space formed in the rear of the flywheel. CONSTITUTION:The vertically extending crankshaft 5 of an engine 3 is coupled at its lower end with a drive shaft 7 in a lower unit 6. The lower end part of the drive shaft 7 is coupled to a screw shaft through the intermediary of a gear mechanism. The crankshaft 5 of the engine 2 is projected upward, and a flywheel 15 is attached to the upper end of the projected part of the crankshaft 5. A turbo-charger 16 is arranged in the rear of the flywheel 15 and above a cylinder head section 12. The turbine shaft 17 of the turbo-charger 16 is extended in the longitudinal direction, and a compressor 18 is provided in front of a turbine 19. |
