EXAMPLE:7-O-(2,6-Dideoxy-2-fluoro-d-L-talopyranosyl) adriamycin 14-O-valerate expressed by formula II. USE:An antitumor agent readily usable as an injection drug as it has high solubility in water. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula III (X represents Br, Cl or I; Y represents divalent hydroxyl-protecting group) or a compound obtained by eliminating group Y from the above-mentioned compound is reacted with a compound expressed by the formula A-OOC-R (A represents alkali metal) to form a compound expressed by formula IV or a compound in which the group Y is eliminated from said compound.
