PURPOSE:To perform a virtual computer (VM) console screen control with good operability by divisionally displaying both of the screen of a control program (CP) and the screen of an operating system (OS) on one screen of a VM. CONSTITUTION:When a screen dividing command is supplied, a screen dividing control part checks whether the OS is executed on the VM at present or not. If it is executed on the VM, the command name is decided and if it is a command TRACK and a division mode bit is turned off, an instruction Diag 4006 for screen division is issued by a screen division reporting part 1005. The operand of this instruction uses two optional designated registers Rx and Ry, and the division mode is set by the register Rx, and a start line number 5002 and an end line number 5003 for division are set by the register Ry. After the end of the instruction Diag, the division mode bit is turned on to terminate the processing.
