PURPOSE:To enable the smooth recovery of ink from the beginning after non- operation for a long time by a construction wherein an ink recovery channel through which the ink entering a gutter is collected spontaneously into an ink tank is provided, grooves for smoothing a flow are formed in the bottom of the channel, and moreover slender grooves are formed also in the bottoms of the above grooves. CONSTITUTION:In an ink recovery channel 16, a plurality of grooves 20 are formed in the bottom thereof. Ink is made to flow by capillarity caused by these grooves 20 and, guided by this ink flow, ink is made to flow ink recovery channel 16. The flow of ink in the ink collection channel 16 is smoothed in this way. Moreover, slender grooves 20a are formed in the bottoms of the grooves 20. The ink is made to flow first by capillarity caused by these slender grooves 20a and, guided by this ink flow, the ink is made to flow in each of the grooves 20. The flow of the ink in the recovery channel 16 is further smoothed in this way. |
