PURPOSE:To adjust the wind velocity of a ventilation zone at the time of a drying treatment of works for each of the works so that the good workability and finish are made compatible by controlling ventilation means in accordance with the signals from work identifying sensors provided to a painting line. CONSTITUTION:Base paints of the specific colors intended by kinds are coated on plural kinds of the works 2 conveyed on the painting line 1, then the works are dried for the specified time in the ventilation zone 7 provided with the ventilation means 13, 17; thereafter, finish paints are coated on the base paints and a finishing treatment is executed. The ventilation means 13, 17 are controlled in accordance with the signals from the work identifying sensors 5 provided to the line 1 to adjust the wind velocity in the zone 7 at the time of the drying treatment of the works by each of the works. As a result, the drying degrees of the base paints coated on the works at the time of coating the finish paint are uniformed without adjusting the solvent compounding of the base paints and, therefore, the good workability and finish are made compatible.
