PURPOSE:To remove cake stuck to a filter by constituting a titled device in such a manner that an injection device injects air or gaseous nitrogen, etc., to the filter while a scraper is held in proximity to the filter. CONSTITUTION:The scraper 10 is disposed in such a manner that the scraper can freely approach the filter 9. The injection device 15 which can inject the gas such as air or gaseous nitrogen is disposed oppositely to the filter 9 apart at a specified distance therefrom. A centrifugal separator 1 is run at a low speed and the cake formed in the crystal state on the filter 9 is removed. The cake can be thoroughly removed from the filter 9 by injecting the gas such as air or gaseous nitrogen even if the scraper 10 is provided in proximity to the filter 9 at the peripheral wall of the separator 1 slightly apart therefrom. Productivity is thus improved. The quick drying treatment in the ensuing stage is permitted and the sanitary and safe centrifugal sepn. treatment is executed.
