<p>Apparatus for dyeing shaped articles comprises a system err surrounding the shaped articles with a nonreactive environment, such as gas vapor, in a treatment chamber. An applicator provides a thin continuous film of a dye composition over the surface of the shaped article at an elevated temperature in the non-reactive environment. The apparatus significantly reduces degradation of the dyestuff in high temperature dyeing.</p> |
