EXAMPLE:6-Phenoxy-2-pyridylmethyl 2-methyl-3,3,3-trifluoropropyl ether. USE:Useful as an insecticide capable of exhibiting remarkable effects on various insect pests, e.g. planthoppers, leafhoppers, aphides, Culex pipiens pallens Couquillet, Blattella germanica Linne etc., and also insects pests resistant to organophosphorus and carbamate agents. PREPARATION:A halogen compound expressed by formula II (X is Cl or Br) is reacted with an alcoholic compound expressed by formula III in a solvent, e.g. dimethylformamide, etc., in the presence of a base at room temperature - while heating to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
