<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the running stability, by providing an inhibition means for inhibiting the transmission of an assist steering force control signal which is issued in accordance with the outputs of torque and steering angle sensors, to a steering force assist mechanism when a brake pedal is depressed. CONSTITUTION:In such an arrangement that a transistor TR1 (TR2) is turned on when an output pulse from a torque sensor (not shown) for detecting the steering force of a steering wheel, is positive (negative), and therefore, a current is accordance with the output of the torque sensor is applied to a motor 7 producing an assist steering power, a brake switch 13 which is opened and closed during depression of a brake pedal is disposed in a drive circuit for the motor 7. Further there is provided a vehicle speed relay 14 which is energized by means of a transistor TR16 when a vehicle speed detecting circuit 15 detects a vehicle speed below a predetermined value, in parallel with the switch 13. With this arrangement, during running at a vehicle speed below a predetermined value, when the brake pedal is depressed, the motor 7 drive circuit is deenergized.</p> |
