PURPOSE:To make it possible to maintain moisture between short fibers set on the surface of a sleeve by flocking, enhance moisture-absorbing efficiency and enable long-time preserva tion under normal humidity and temperature conditions, by uniformly setting short fibers on the outer peripheral surface of a hollow cylindrical sleeve base body constituted of a heat-shrinkable film resin, by flocking. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve base body 2 is heated by a heating means in the condition of being fitted to a performing shaft core, whereby the body 2 is contracted in the direction of the axis, and is reduced in diameter. Next, the base body 2 is detached from the shaft core, and the outer peripheral surface thereof is entirely coated with an adhesive 6. Then, short fiber 3 of nylon or the like about 0.3mm in diameter and about 0.5-1.0mm in length are electrified with negative charges, while the sleeve base body 2 is electrified with positive charges, and the short fibers are set upright substantially unformly on the whole surface of the outer peripheral surface of the base body 2 by the attraction between the negative charges and the position charges. The sleeve base body 2 is appropriately cut to a predeter mined length, the cut base body is fitted to a main body 5 of a roller, and is heated by a heating means. By the shrinking action of the sleeve base body 2, the inner peripheral surface of the base body 2 is brought into close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the main body 5 of the roller, whereby the fitting of a moisture-absorptive sleeve 1 is completed. |
