PURPOSE:To reduce rigidity of a tire and noise thereof, by providing patterns such as blocks or the like having grooves on a tread surface and defining cutouts on the wall surfaces of the grooves to separate the wall surface to upper and lower portions such that the presence of the cutouts cannot be viewed externally. CONSTITUTION:There are provided a plurality of main grooves 1 along a tire circumferential direction E-E' and a plurality of grooves crossing the respective main grooves 1 along a tire radial direction to form a plurality of blocks 3. A cutout 4 or a plurality of cutouts are defined on the wall surface of each groove 2. At the time, the cutout 4 is defined in such a manner that it separates the wall surface of the block 3, i.e., the wall surface of the groove 2 to upper and lower portions. With the arrangement, the presence of the cutout 4 cannot be viewed externally and the rigidity of the end portions of the blocks. Therefore, a shock applied the end portions of the block is restricted with an excellent external appearance when a tire rotates, whereby noise of the tire can be reduced. |
