PURPOSE:To recover a catalytic component such as platinum group metals, etc., in high yield under a fixed condition without adding an alkali or reducing agent from a reaction product obtained by reacting an amine with CO, a hydroxyl group-containing organic compound and oxygen by the use of a specific catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An amine is reacted with CO and a hydroxyl group-containing organic compound by the use of a catalyst comprising transition metal (e.g. Pd, Ro, Ru, etc.) belonging to platinum group or a salt thereof as a main catalyst and a complex of monovalent copper salt, trivalent titanium salt or vanadium salt as a promoter to give a carbamic ester solution. In the operation, the concentration of the amine in the reaction system is made at least higher than the concentration of oxygen complex in order to make the platinum group metal into zero valent metal. The promoter is crystallized and the catalytic component is recovered from the solution. By this method Pd is recovered as 100% Pd(0) and most of the promoter can be recovered by making the solution at <=80 deg.C, preferably <=60 deg.C. |
