PURPOSE:To obtain the titled polymer in high purity at low cost, outstanding in mechanical properties and processability, by (co)polymerization of alpha-olefin (s) using a catalytic system made up of a trivalent Ti-compound-contg. solid catalytic component, organoaluminum compound and specific hetero cyclic compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective polymer can be obtained by (co)polymerization of alpha-olefin (s) using a catalytic system made up of (A) a trivalent Ti-compound- contg. catalytic component prepared by treating, with a mixture of ester compound, ether compound and TiCl4, a solid product formed by reducing a Ti- compound of formula Ti(OR<1>)nX4-n (R<1> is 1-20C hydrocarbon group; X is halogen; 0<n<=4) with an organomagnesium compound (e.g., methylmagnesium chloride) in the presence of a Si-O bond-contg. organosilicon compound (e.g., tetramethoxysilane) (B) an organoaluminum compound (e.g., tetraethyl dialiumoxane), and (C) a heterocyclic compound of foumula I or II (n is 2 or 8; R<2> is H or 1-4C hydrocarbon; R<3>-R<10> are each H, 1-4C hydrocarbon or alkoxy).
